Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 and in the mornings they would ask for forgiveness; 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
