He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 And what could let you know? Perhaps he (comes to hear you) to be purified. 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 So you are after him! 6 though you are not to be blamed if he would not purify himself -- 7 As for the one who comes to you earnestly (striving for guidance). 8 While he fears [Allah], 9 From him you are distracted. 10 Not this way – this is the advice. 11 So let whosoever will pay heed to it, 12 (Contained) in honoured pages, 13 lofty and pure, 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 noble and virtuous scribes. 16 Perish the human! How unthankful he is! 17 Of what thing hath He created him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 then the way eased for him, 20 Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave; 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 By no means he performed not that which He had commanded him. 23 Let man consider his food: 24 We send down abundant water, 25 And We split the earth in fragments, 26 and therein made the grains to grow 27 And grapes and vegetables 28 Olives and dates, 29 And dense gardens, 30 And fruits and herbage 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 But when there comes the Deafening Blast 33 On the Day whereon a man shall flee from his brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 wife and sons, 36 For every one of them on that Day shall be business enough to occupy 37 Some faces that Day will be beaming, 38 laughing and joyous 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 Darkness shall cover them. 41 those will be ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity. 42
