The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
CONSIDER the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 And Him who created the male and female, 3 O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 And believed the best matter to be true 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 We shall facilitate the path to affliction 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing. 14 None shall enter it but the most unhappy, 15 Who had denied and turned away. 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
