'Lord, open my breast,' said Moses, 25 and make my task easy for me. 26 And untie the knot from my tongue 27 that they may understand my words. 28 And appoint for me a minister from my household. 29 "Aaron, my brother; 30 Add Thou through him to my strength, 31 and let him share my task, 32 so that we may glorify 33 And remember you a great deal. 34 Surely You know us well." 35 He answered: "Granted is your prayer, O Moses. 36 And assuredly We conferred a benefit on thee another time. 37 when We inspired thy mother with this inspiration: 38 Saying: Put him into a chest, then cast it down into the river, then the river shall throw him on the shore; there shall take him up one who is an enemy to Me and enemy to him, and I cast down upon you love from Me, and that you might be brought up before My eyes; 39 When thy sister went and said: Shall I show you one who will nurse him? and we restored thee to thy mother that her eyes might be refreshed and might not sorrow. And thou didst kill a man and We delivered thee from great distress, and tried thee with a heavy trial. And thou didst tarry years among the folk of Midian. Then camest thou (hither) by (My) providence, O Moses, 40 for I have chosen thee for Mine Own service. 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs, and do not be remiss in remembering Me. 42 Go both to Firon, surely he has become inordinate; 43 “And speak to him courteously, that perhaps he may ponder or have some fear.” 44 The two [brothers] said: "O our Sustainer! Verily, we fear lest he act hastily with regard to us, or lest he [continue to] transgress all bounds of equity." 45 [Allah] said, "Fear not. Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see. 46 Go, then; you two unto him and say, 'Behold, we are apostles sent by thy Sustainer: let, then, the children of Israel go with us, and cause them not to suffer [any longer]. We have now come unto thee with a message from thy Sustainer; and [know that His] peace shall be [only] on those who follow [His] guidance: 47 Indeed, it has been revealed to us that the punishment will be upon whoever denies and turns away.' " 48 Pharaoh said:" Moses! Who is the Lord of the two of you?" 49 (Moses) said: "Our Lord is He who gave everything its natural form and directed it." 50 Pharaoh asked, "What about the previous generations?" 51 Moses said, "My Lord alone has knowledge of that, recorded in a Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 It is He who has made for you the earth as a cradle and threaded roads for you and sends down water from the sky with which We bring forth every kind of plant. 53 Eat, [then, of this produce of the soil,] and pasture your cattle [thereon]. In all this, behold, there are messages indeed for those who are endowed with reason: 54
