The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta. Sin. Mim. 1 These are verses of the clear Book. 2 Wouldst thou, perhaps, torment thyself to death [with grief] because they [who live around thee] refuse to believe [in it]? 3 If (such) were Our Will, We could send down to them from the sky a Sign, to which they would bend their necks in humility. 4 But never fresh remembrance comes to them from the All-merciful, except they turn away from it. 5 So they have indeed rejected (the truth), therefore the news of that which they mock shall soon come to them. 6 Have they, then, never considered the earth - how much of every noble kind [of life] We have caused to grow thereon? 7 Most surely there is a sign in that, but most of them will not believe. 8 And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 9
