In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 Nor given leave to make excuses. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 In what other lore after this will they then believe? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 And those that bring down the Reminder 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be you and the earlier generations. 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
