The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And by those who float in space, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
