The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 And it is not amusement. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
