Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Ha, Meem. 1 A sending down from the Merciful, the Compassionate. 2 A Book the verses of which are explained in detail, the Qur’an in Arabic for people of intellect. 3 It bears glad tidings and a warning, yet most of them turn away and do not listen. 4 and so they say, [as it were:] "Our hearts are veiled from whatever thou callest us to, [O Muhammad,] and in our ears is deafness, and between us and thee is a barrier. Do, then, [whatever thou wilt, whereas,] behold, we shall do [as we have always done]!" 5 Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Physically I am a human like you – I receive the divine revelation that your God is only One God, therefore be upright towards Him and seek forgiveness from Him”; and woe is to the polytheists. – 6 who do not pay Zakah, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 For those who believe and work deeds of righteousness is a reward that will never fail. 8
