Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Woe to the liars 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
