▼ 52 The Mountain
Al-Toor 2 of 2
Therefore proclaim thou the praises (of thy Lord): for by the Grace of thy Lord, thou art no (vulgar) soothsayer, nor art thou one possessed. 29 Or do they say: A poet, we wait for him the evil accidents of time. 30 Say: 'Await! I shall be awaiting with you.' 31 Do their minds prompt them to say such things, or are they a people immersed in transgression?” 32 Or do they say, 'He has invented it?' Nay, but they do not believe. 33 But then, [if they deem it the work of a mere mortal,] let them produce another discourse like it - if what they say be true! 34 Were they created out of nothing, or are they their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they are sure of nothing! 36 Or, are the treasures of your Lord in their keeping? Or, are they the controllers? 37 Or have they any stairway (unto heaven) by means of which they overhear (decrees). Then let their listener produce some warrant manifest! 38 Has (God) daughters and they sons? 39 Or askest thou (Muhammad) a fee from them so that they are plunged in debt? 40 Do they possess knowledge of the unseen, so that they can write it down? 41 Or do they want to entrap [thee in contradictions]? But they who are bent on denying the truth - it is they who are truly entrapped! 42 Or have they a deity other than Allah? Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him. 43 Were they to see a piece of the sky falling (on them), they would (only) say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 Wherefore let them alone, till they meet their Day whereon they shall swoon. 45 when their stratagem shall be of no avail to them, nor shall they be succoured. 46 But, verily, for those who are bent on doing evil, there is suffering in store [even] closer at hand than that [supreme suffering in the hereafter]: but most of them are not aware of it. 47 Be patient, then, (O Prophet), until the judgement of your Lord comes. For surely you are before Our eyes. And celebrate the praise of your Lord when you rise, 48 And proclaim His Purity during the night, and when the stars turn back. 49

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
