The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
There was certainly a time when there was no mention of the human being. 1 Indeed, We created man from a sperm-drop mixture that We may try him; and We made him hearing and seeing. 2 We showed him the right path whether he would be grateful or ungrateful. 3 Indeed, for the unbelievers We have prepared chains, fetters and a Blazing (Fire). 4 Indeed, the righteous will drink from a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of Kafur, 5 a fountain at which the worshipers of Allah drink and make it gush forth abundantly; 6 The servants of God fulfill their vows and are afraid of the day in which there will be widespread terror. 7 They feed the destitute, orphans, and captives for the love of God, saying, 8 saying, "We feed you for the sake of God alone, we seek neither recompense nor thanks from you. 9 Indeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful." 10 Therefor Allah hath warded off from them the evil of that day, and hath made them find brightness and joy; 11 For their patience, He will reward them with Paradise and silk. 12 Reclining there upon couches, they shall see neither the sun nor the moon. 13 The shades of Paradise will bend over them, and its fruits will be brought within their easy reach; 14 And there will be circulated among them vessels of silver and cups having been [created] clear [as glass], 15 And crystal clear bottles of silver, of which they will determine the measure themselves. 16 And they will be given to drink there of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Zanjabil,- 17 [derived from] a source [to be found] therein, whose name is "Seek Thy Way". 18 ۞ And immortal youths will wait upon them: when thou seest them, thou wouldst deem them to be scattered pearls; 19 when thou seest them then thou seest bliss and a great kingdom. 20 Upon them shall be green garments of silk and brocade; they are adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord shall give them to drink a pure draught. 21 (And it will be said to them): "Verily, this is a reward for you, and your endeavour has been accepted." 22
