The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Then where are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
