In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 HAST THOU ever considered him who tries to prevent 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
