And recite to them the news of Abraham, 69 When he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They answered: "There are some idols that we worship and are devoted to them with constancy." 71 He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate? 72 Or do they benefit you, or do you harm?" 73 They said, “In fact we found our forefathers doing likewise.” 74 He said, 'And have you considered what you have been serving, 75 “You and your forefathers preceding you.” 76 Surely they are enemies to me, but not (so) the Lord of the worlds; 77 "Who created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 He Who feedeth me and giveth me to drink. 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me, 80 Who will make me die, then give me life again, 81 “And the One Who, upon Whom I pin my hopes, will forgive me my mistakes on the Day of Judgement.” 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 And uphold my name with posterity, 84 And make me of the heirs of the garden of bliss 85 Forgive my father. He has gone astray. 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 on the Day of Judgment when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit 88 but only he that brings to Allah a sound heart will (attain to success)." 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 And Hell is brought near to the perverse' 91 And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?” 92 Instead of Allah? Can they help you or help themselves? 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 Together with the hordes of Iblis. 95 And they, while contending therein, shall say: 96 “By oath of Allah, we were indeed in open error.” 97 when we assigned to you a position equal to that of the Lord of the Universe. 98 And no one misguided us except the criminals. 99 "'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us), 100 Nor a close friend (to help us). 101 Were there for us a return, we would be of the believers. 102 There is certainly a sign in that, but most of them would not believe: 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
