The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night, when it envelops, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 surely your strivings are divergent. 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 and he belied the finest 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely; 14 [the fire] which none shall have to endure but that most hapless wretch 15 who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it]. 16 But save him who fears 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
