Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 By the Clear Book, 2 We have made it an Arabic Koran in order that you understand. 3 And verily, [originating as it does] in the source, with Us, of all revelation, it is indeed sublime, full of wisdom. 4 Should We divert this Good Counsel from you because you are a people immersed in extravagance? 5 And how many a prophet have We sent among the ancients. 6 But never did a prophet come at whom they did not scoff. 7 We destroyed the strongest among them in power. The stories of the ancient people have already been mentioned. 8 If you ask them: "Who created the heavens and the earth?" they will answer: "The Mighty and All-knowing created them," 9 He who made the earth a bed for you, and laid out tracks upon it so that you may find the way; 10 And Who sends down water (rain) from the sky in due measure. Then We revive a dead land therewith, and even so you will be brought forth (from the dead), 11 it is He who created all living things in pairs and gave you ships to sail in and beasts to ride upon 12 In order that you may mount firmly on their backs, and then may remember the Favour of your Lord when you mount thereon, and say: "Glory to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it (by our efforts)." 13 And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return." 14 Yet they assign to Him some of His own (created) worshipers! Clearly, the human is unthankful. 15
