Did the news of Ibrahim’s honourable guests reach you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him)? 24 When those [heavenly messengers] came unto him and bade him peace, he answered, "[And upon you be] peace!" - [saying to himself,] "They are strangers." 25 Then he turned to his household, so brought out a roasted calf [as the property of Ibrahim (Abraham) was mainly cows]. 26 and he laid it before them saying, 'Will you not eat?' 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. 28 Then his wife came forward with a loud voice, she smote her face, and said: "A barren old woman!" 29 They said, “This is how your Lord has decreed; indeed He only is the Wise, the All Knowing.” 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" 31 They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people, 32 That we may send upon them stones of clay, 33 which are marked by your Lord for the punishment of those guilty of excesses." 34 Then we brought forth such believers as were there. 35 but We found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves. 36 And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. 37 And in Musa (Moses) (too, there is a sign). When We sent him to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority. 38 But he turned to his counsellors, and said: "He is a magician or lunatic." 39 We seized him and his hosts, and cast them all into the sea: and [none but Pharaoh] himself was to blame [for what happened]. 40 There is also evidence of the Truth in the story of Ad whom We struck with a violent wind 41 Which turned everything it touched to ashes. 42 And in Thamud, when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time." 43 But they rebelled against their Lord's decree, and so the thunderbolt overtook them even while they gazed; 44 and they were not able to stand upright, and were not helped. 45 And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. 46
