50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. (The verses of the Holy Qur’an or the angels or the winds). 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 until an appointed time? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
