The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And by those who float in space, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 and gathered his people together 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 you pay attention 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
