And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders. 75 We saved him and his people from great distress, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 78 "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!" 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 Recall what time he came unto his Lord with a heart whole. 84 and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship? 85 Do you want to worship false idols as your lords besides God? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 And he cast a look at the stars 88 And said, "I am sick," 89 So they turned away from him, and departed (for fear of the disease). 90 He then sneaked upon their deities and said, “Do you not eat?” 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand. 93 [But] then the others came towards him hurriedly [and accused him of his deed]. 94 He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!” 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him – We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" 100 Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy; 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 When both surrendered (to Allah's command) and Abraham flung the son down on his forehead, 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 “You have indeed made the dream come true”; and this is how We reward the virtuous. 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones. 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants – some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
