The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He has created man: 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
