The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 and there can be no denying its happening, 2 (a calamitous Event) that shall turn things upside down: 3 When the earth is shaken with convulsion 4 And the hills are ground to powder 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 and you shall be three bands -- 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 Then the foremost, how pre-excellent, 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 And a few from the later generations. 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 And flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes, 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 The Companions of the Right 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 and serried acacias, 29 Lengthened shadows, 30 Gushing water, 31 and fruits abounding 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 and upraised couches. 34 We have formed them in a distinctive fashion, 35 and shall have made them virgins, 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 For the sake of the companions of the right hand. 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
