The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
