Truly, it is the sending of the Lord of the Worlds. 192 The Faithful Spirit has descended with it, 193 To (communicate) to your heart that you may be a warner 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 Its news was also mentioned in the ancient Books. 196 Is not the fact (that the Israelite scholars already knew about the Quran through their Book) sufficient evidence for the pagans of the truthfulness (of the Quran)? 197 Had We revealed it to any one of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 They will not believe therein until they behold the torment afflictive. 201 So it will come upon them suddenly, whilst they will be unaware. 202 and then they will say: 'Shall we be respited' 203 What! do they still seek to hasten on Our punishment? 204 What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years, 205 And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised! 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners 208 To warn. For We are never unjust. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 nor does it behove them, nor does it lie in their power. 211 Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it. 212 So do not call upon another god with Allah, lest you should be one of those who are punished. 213 Warn your tribe and your near kinsmen. 214 and be kind to your believing followers. 215 then, if they disobey thee, say, 'I am quit of that you do.' 216 And rely on the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 Who observes you when you rise (to pray) 218 and [sees] thy behaviour among those who prostrate themselves [before Him]: 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 O people, shall I tell you on whom it is that satans descend? 221 They descend upon every calumniator, sinner. 222 They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars. 223 And the astray follow the poets. 224 Have you not seen how they wander in every valley, 225 and that they [so often] say what they do not do [or feel]? 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
