Have you seen the one who turned away 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 and that it is He who gives riches and causes to hoard, 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 and covered them with torment. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This (Muhammad SAW) is a warner (Messenger) of the (series of) warners (Messengers) of old. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
