Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; 5 And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 They defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip. 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 In a high garden 22 its fruits are near. 23 “Eat and drink with pleasure – the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 My wealth has been of no use to me. 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 "Then fasten him with a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!" 32 for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 Therefore he has not here today a true friend, 35 and the only food he has is filth 36 None shall eat it but the sinners. 37
