The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 About the great news - 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.). 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 and We made the night a mantle, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 Save boiling water and a paralysing cold: 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 They indeed hoped not for a reckoning, 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 But all things We have enumerated in writing. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
