The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 But God knows what they harbour in their breasts. 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
