The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 he was created of gushing water 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
