The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
