The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs; 1 By the promised Day (of Judgment); 2 by the witness and the witnessed, 3 Perish the fellows of the ditch, 4 Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel, 5 When they were sitting at its edge. 6 And to that which they did to the believers were witnesses. 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Those who persecute the believers, men and women, and then have not repented, there awaits them the chastisement of Gehenna, and there awaits them the chastisement of the burning. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 Indeed the seizure of your Lord is very severe. 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 He is the All-forgiving, the Most Loving One, 14 the Owner of the Throne, the Glorious One, 15 Who does as He pleases. 16 Has the story reached thee, of the forces- 17 Of Pharaoh and (the tribe of) Thamud? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 What is revealed to you is certainly a glorious Quran 21 in a Guarded Tablet. 22
