۞ (And it is said unto the angels): Assemble those who did wrong, together with their wives and what they used to worship 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 And stop them, for they must be questioned. 24 What is the matter with you that you do not help each other? 25 Nay, but on that Day they would willingly surrender [to God]; 26 And they will approach one another blaming each other. 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 They will say: "No, you were the ones who would not believe. 29 we had no authority over you; no, you were an insolent people. 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 So we led you astray; we ourselves were strayed.” 32 So all of them on that day are sharers in the chastisement. 33 As such We shall deal with the evildoers. 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 and would say: "Shall we, then, give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Not in the least. He has brought the truth and confirmed the other messengers. 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,- 40 For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise). 41 Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity, 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 upon couches, set face to face, 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 but not harmful or intoxicating. 47 They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes 48 (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich). 49 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 50 one of them will say, "I had a friend, 51 Who used to say: Art thou in truth of those who put faith (in his words)? 52 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be requited?" 53 He says, 'Are you looking down?' 54 Then he looked down and saw him in the midst of hell. 55 And he will say: by Allah, thou hadst wellnigh causedest me to perish. 56 But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned. 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 [again,] beyond our previous death, and that we shall never [again] be made to suffer? 59 Surely this is the supreme triumph. 60 For this the toilers should strive." 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Truly We have made it (as) a trail for the Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers, wrong-doers, etc.). 63 for, behold, it is a tree that grows in the very heart of the blazing fire [of hell,] 64 and its fruits are like the heads of devils. 65 (The people of Hell) will surely eat of it, filling their bellies with it. 66 then in addition to it they shall have a draught of boiling water to drink; 67 then surely they shall return to Hell. 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 So they hastily follow their footsteps! 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 And assuredly We sent among them warners. 72 and behold, how was the end of them that were warned, 73 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 74
