He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ He frowned and then turned away 1 when the blind came to him. 2 And what would make you know that he would purify himself, 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 You pay full attention, 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 and fears (Allah), 9 You neglect. 10 Indeed, this [Quran] is an admonition. 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 in [the light of His] revelations blest with dignity, 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 borne by the hands of scribes, 15 noble and most virtuous. 16 Cursed be man! how ungrateful is he! 17 From what thing doth He create him? 18 He created him from a living germ. He determined his fate 19 then eased his path for him, 20 He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave. 21 then, when He wills, He raises him. 22 Nay, but [man] has never yet fulfilled what He has enjoined upon him! 23 So man must look at his food. 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 and cleaved the earth, cleaving it asunder; 26 Then We cause to grow therein the grain, 27 together with grapes and vegetables, 28 And olives and palms 29 and gardens dense with foliage, 30 and fruits, and pastures, 31 for you and for your herds to delight in. 32 But when the deafening cry comes, 33 On that day man will run away from his brother. 34 And from his mother and father, 35 And his wife and his children, 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright - 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 with darkness overspread: 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
Almighty Allah's Truth.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
