The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 shall call for destruction 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment, 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
