In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 We have not sent down the Koran upon thee for thee to be unprosperous, 2 but only as a reminder to him who tears, 3 A revelation from He who created the earth and highest heavens, 4 the Merciful willed to the Throne. 5 To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, and whatever lies in between them, and all that lies under the ground. 6 And if thou speakest aloud, then lo! He knoweth the secret (thought) and (that which is yet) more hidden. 7 Allah! There is no Allah save Him. His are the most beautiful names. 8 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 9 Lo! he saw a fire [in the desert]; and so he said to his family: "Wait here! Behold, I perceive a fire [far away]: perhaps I can bring you a brand there from, or find at the fire some guidance." 10 When he came near the fire he was called, "Moses, 11 "Verily I am thy Lord! therefore (in My presence) put off thy shoes: thou art in the sacred valley Tuwa. 12 “And I have chosen you, therefore listen carefully to what is divinely revealed to you.” 13 Verily I am Allah. There is no god beside Me. So serve Me and establish Prayers to remember Me. 14 The Hour is coming; I would conceal it that every soul may be recompensed for its labours. 15 So let not him who believeth not therein and followeth his own desire keep thee away therefrom lest thou perish. 16 "What do you have in your right hand, Moses?" 17 He said: "This is my stick, whereon I lean, and wherewith I beat down branches for my sheep, and wherein I find other uses." 18 (Allah) said: "Cast it down, O Musa (Moses)!" 19 So he threw it down, and lo! it was a rapidly moving snake. 20 'Take it, and do not fear' He said, 'We will restore it to its former state. 21 And press your hand to your side, it shall come out white without evil: another sign: 22 for We shall show you some of Our greatest Signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh, he has become insolent' 24

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
