And when the envoys came to the family of Lot, 61 he said to them: 'I do not know you' 62 They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing, 63 We have come to you for a genuine purpose and We are true in what we say. 64 “Therefore journey with your household while a portion of the night remains, and you tread behind them – and none of you may turn around and see, and proceed directly to the place you are commanded to.” 65 And We made known to him this decree that the wrongdoers were to be utterly cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the city came [unto Lot,] rejoicing at the glad tiding. 67 He said: 'These are my guests; do not shame me. 68 And fear Allah and do not disgrace me." 69 They (people of the city) said: "Did we not forbid you to entertain (or protect) any of the 'Alamin (people, foreigners, strangers, etc. from us)?" 70 He said: 'Here are my daughters; take them (in marriage), if you would be doing' 71 By your life, they wandered on in their wild intoxication 72 and thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at sunrise. 73 We turned the town upside down and rained upon them stones of clay. 74 Indeed in this are signs for people who perceive. 75 And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road. 76 Surely! Therein is indeed a sign for the believers. 77 And the people of Aykah were also wrong-doers. 78 So we took vengeance on them; and lo! they both are on a high-road plain to see. 79
