Truly, it is the sending of the Lord of the Worlds. 192 The Trustworthy Spirit brought it down. (Angel Jibreel – peace be upon him.) 193 To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. 194 in clear Arabic speech. 195 (a revelation embodied) in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is not the fact (that the Israelite scholars already knew about the Quran through their Book) sufficient evidence for the pagans of the truthfulness (of the Quran)? 197 But [even] had We bestowed it from on high upon any of the non-Arabs, 198 they would still not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it until they suffer the painful torment. 201 It will come upon them unawares, and they will not comprehend it. 202 they say: "Can we be granted some respite?" 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Have you then considered if We let them enjoy themselves for years, 205 and then the promised punishment fell upon them, 206 of what avail will be the provisions of life which they have been granted to enjoy? 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 The satans have not revealed the Quran; 210 neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 and lower your wing to the believers who follow you. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 And watches your movements among those who prostrate in prayer. 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 Shall I tell you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They come down to every mendacious sinner, 222 (Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars. 223 Only the erring people follow the poets. 224 Have you not seen how they wander in every valley, 225 preaching what they do not practice. 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
