Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
