Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 Till an appointed term, 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
