The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
