Do not kill your children because you fear poverty. We will provide for you and them. Killing them is a great sin. 31 Do not draw near to fornication, for it is an indecency, and its way is evil. 32 And do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden, except by right. And whoever is killed unjustly - We have given his heir authority, but let him not exceed limits in [the matter of] taking life. Indeed, he has been supported [by the law]. 33 Do not go near the orphans' property, except with the best of intentions, until they reach maturity. Keep your promises; you will be called to account for every promise which you have made! 34 Give full measure, when you measure, and weigh with accurate scales. That is fair, and better in the end. 35 (O man), follow not that whereof thou hast no knowledge. Lo! the hearing and the sight and the heart - of each of these it will be asked. 36 And walk not in the earth exultantly; certainly thou wilt never tear the earth open, nor attain the mountains in height. 37 All these are evil and odious to your Lord. 38 (Muhammad), these are words of wisdom which your Lord has revealed to you. Do not consider anything equal to God lest you be thrown into hell, despised, and driven away from God's mercy. 39 What, has your Lord favoured you with sons and taken to Himself from the angels females? Surely it is a monstrous thing you are saying! 40
