The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers, 1 Those who humble themselves in their prayers; 2 Who avoid vain talk; 3 who observe Zakah; 4 And those who of their private parts are guards. 5 Except from their wives or the legal bondwomen that they possess, for then there is no blame upon them. 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors; 7 And those who fulfil their trusts and keep their promises; 8 and those who observe their prayers. 9 These are the real gainers, 10 Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide. 11 NOW, INDEED, We create man out of the essence of clay, 12 Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging; 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 After that you shall surely die, 15 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day. 16 We have created seven heavens above you and have never been neglectful to Our Creation. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 Then We produce for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you and whereof ye eat; 19 Also a tree springing out of Mount Sinai, which produces oil, and relish for those who use it for food. 20 And behold, in the cattle [too] there is indeed a lesson for you: We give you to drink of that [milk] which is within their bellies; and you derive many [other] uses from them: for, you eat of their flesh, 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
