Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
