The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He has created man: 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
