And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 Behold, he said to his father and his people: "What worship ye?" 70 They said: We worship idols, and are ever devoted unto them. 71 He said, “Do they hear you when you call?” 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They replied: 'No, but we found our fathers doing so' 74 He said, “Do you see these – (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 You and your fathers? 76 They are all enemies to me; all, except the Lord of the Universe 77 Who created me and Who guides me; 78 and He gives me to eat and drink, 79 “And when I fall ill, so it is He Who heals me.” 80 and who will cause me to die and then will bring me back to life 81 and who I am eager shall forgive me my offence on the Day of Doom. 82 (And then Abraham prayed): "My Lord, endow me with knowledge and wisdom and join me with the righteous, 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 "Forgive my father, for that he is among those astray; 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children 88 Except him who brings to Allah a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifaq (hypocrisy)]. 89 And Paradise shall be brought forward for the godfearing, 90 and hell will be left open for the rebellious ones 91 It will be said to them: 'Where is that you worshipped, 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 and Satan's legions, all together. 95 And there and then, blaming one another, they [who had grievously sinned in life] will exclaim: 96 By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest 97 When we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 We have no intercessors now, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 "'Now if we only had a chance of return we shall truly be of those who believe!'" 102 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 Surely, Your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
