And whatever affliction befalls you, it is on account of what your hands have wrought, and (yet) He pardons most (of your faults). 30 You cannot frustrate Him in the earth; you have no protector nor helper against Allah. 31 And among His Signs are the ships, smooth-running through the ocean, (tall) as mountains. 32 if He will, He calms the wind so that they remain motionless upon its back, surely, there are signs in this for every thankful, patient (person). 33 Or He can cause them to perish because of the (evil) which (the men) have earned; but much doth He forgive. 34 and that those who dispute concerning Our signs may know they have no asylum. 35 So whatsoever things are vouchsafed unto you are but a passing enjoyment for the life of the world, and that which is with Allah, better and more lasting, is for those who believe and in their Lord put their trust. 36 And those who shun the great sins and indecencies, and whenever they are angry they forgive. 37 those who answer their Lord, establish the prayers, and their affairs are by consultation; who spend of that which We have given them, 38 who, when a wrong is done to them, seek its redress. 39 The recompense of evil is evil the like of it. But he who forgives and makes amends, his reward lies with Allah. Surely He does not love the wrong-doers. 40 And whosoever helps himself after he has been wronged -- against them there is no way. 41 The way of blame is only against those who wrong mankind, and rebel in the earth without justice; these! for them is a torment afflictive. 42 Surely, he who bears patiently and forgives indeed that is true constancy. 43
