The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He created man 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
