Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
