Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 To clear or to warn. 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
